Review: Indulge Burgers & More, Scottsdale, AZ

Visit them at Indulgeburgers.com here.

Their Scottsdale location is: 10392 North Scottsdale Rd. Scottsdale, AZ 85254. It’s located in the Scottsdale Commons shopping center on the southwest corner of Shea and Scottsdale Rd next to Bevmo.

I was catching up with a fellow gluten-free friend and needed a safe place for us to eat. I had never been to Indulge Burgers & More and he suggested that I go. At first I was just expecting some burger place where I could order a turkey burger without the bun like Zinburger. However, this place is so much more! It’s a fun build-your-own burger joint like The Counter, but they actually understand gluten-free dining there. I mean, check out their sticker on their front door!

They have a gluten-free breakfast and a gluten-free lunch menu!Their breakfast menu is all about omelets and gluten-free english muffins (from Gluten Free Creations Bakery). Their lunch menu is awesome – every burger (including turkey and chicken) combo you could imagine – because you build it yourself off of a vast menu. Their buns are from Gluten Free Creations Bakery and are great. They are grilled in a separate area. The fries are even baked – not fried, so there’s no risk of cross contamination.

Since I went with Ken Scheer of Rock a Healthy Lifestyle, I didn’t have to go through my normal rigors of going to a restaurant for the first time. They knew who he was, and he gave me the run-down of the joint. He did one of his #GFfoodietours there a while back (unfortunately I did not attend), and he is meticulous on what restaurants he works with. These guys clearly know their stuff. You can read about his foodie tour there right here. You can see their other gluten-free foodie reviews here!

I had the turkey burger, because I found out I’m allergic/sensitive to beef a few years ago. It’s hard to find a turkey burger that doesn’t have bread crumbs in it – even when you don’t see it on the menu and order it for years and wonder why you always get sick there (*ahem* Delux Burger). This turkey burger is good, I actually prefer it to Zinburger (the only other GF burger place I eat at). I love all the toppings I can get with it – I love red onions, cheese, and the copious amounts of other stuff I can get there.

Another amazing part? They serve Julia’s Bakery gluten-free cinnamon rolls and other tasty GF desserts! I’ll have a full review of this company later, but they are SERIOUSLY AMAZING. It’s cool when you find a great GF vendor that is working with a GF-friendly restaurant! YES!

If you’re in Scottsdale, AZ (or the Phoenix-metro area), you have to try Indulge Burgers. There’s no reason why I wouldn’t give them a full 5 wheat stalks.

Ratings: Five wheat stalks

I love this place! My daughter is vegetarian and we can both eat with all the “normal” family and not feel deprived! Between here and Picazzo’s I am set! Their “veggie” burger is excellent, though it kind of comes apart, says daughter! The fries are yummy and it’s so cool to be able to have a bun with your chicken/burger/turkey!

Great review of a wonderful Scottsdale restaurant! I have never been there, but it sounds wonderful! I’ve heard there are a ton of great places to eat there, so I will have to add this to my list.

Unfortunately, they just closed! I’m sorry, but hopefully a new GF-friendly burger chain will pop up again soon!
