Brazi Bites is one of the companies that currently makes Brazil cheese bread. I’ve seen them at every gluten-free expo that I’ve been to – so it was nice to finally connect with them. They sent me three sample packages to try out their cheese bread. They offer three flavors – cheese blend, bacon, and fire-roasted jalapeno.

They’re gluten-free and come in resealable packaging. You can take them right out of the freezer, pop them on a cookie sheet, and you’re done! SO EASY! They use Tillamook cheese – which is awesome, because it’s my favorite cheese brand. Non-GFBF even toured their facility when he was in Oregon! Each pouch comes with 22 pieces. Brazil cheese bread is interesting – it’s baked on the outside, but supposed to be kind of chewy/fluffy in the center. It’s almost like they’re not baked all the way when they’re done.
They’re really good – and they’re small, so you don’t have to have an entire loaf of bread at dinner. They’re great cheese bread bites. I really like them. Non-GFBF loves the jalapeno, and I really liked the cheese blend and the bacon (the jalapeno was too spicy for me). I’ve made them with several meals now – and they pair amazing with wine too!
Cheese blend ingredients: tapioca starch, eggs, milk, parmesan cheese (part skim milk, cheese cultures, salt, enzymes), safflower oil and/or soybean oil, cheddar cheese (cultured milk, salt, enzymes), water, salt.
Fire-roasted Jalapeno ingredients: tapioca starch, eggs, milk, parmesan cheese (part skim milk, cheese cultures, salt, enzymes), safflower oil and/or soybean oil, cheddar cheese (cultured milk, salt, enzymes), fire-roasted jalapeno (palapeno peppers, water, citric acid, salt), water, salt.
All-natural bacon ingredients: tapioca starch, eggs, milk, parmesan cheese (part skim milk, cheese cultures, salt, enzymes), safflower oil and/or soybean oil, cheddar cheese (cultured milk, salt, enzymes), all-natural bacon (pork, water, sea salt, turbinado sugar, celery powder), water, salt.
You can buy them online for $7.50 (regularly $8.50) on their website. Here’s what’s not awesome. Shipping. From their website – “Shipping and handling charges include freezer box, dry ice, handling and NEXT DAY delivery. Aproximate chargers per state for 4 pouches: OR $18, WA $18, ID $19-$46, CA $45, all others $48.” That’s right. When I calculated my shipping, it was over $50 to Arizona. So, you better live in Oregon and Washington at all of the stores they are available there.
If shipping wasn’t a problem (and you’re lucky enough to be in the Pacific Northwest) then I’d give them a 4.5 out of 5! Clearly, I can’t really recommend paying the huge shipping fees outside their shipping areas (like Arizona), but if you get a chance to buy them and try them, I recommend them!
You can follow them on Facebook and Twitter too.
