Review: Namaste Foods Gluten Free Pasta Pisavera Meal

Today I’m going to be reviewing Namaste Pasta Pisavera’s meal. This is part of three Namaste pasta mix reviews I’ve got to share with you.

Yes, that’s a cat tail in the background. No, that’s not included in the meal. Basically, all that’s included in the Namaste Food’s Pasta Pisavera meal is the pasta, and the seasoning. Everything else can be added, upon the user’s discretion. Every bag gives you ideas on what to add to the mix in order to make it tasty.

I added in zucchini, eggplant, artichokes, tomatoes, and peppers of all colors. After the pasta was cooked, I added the pasta to the veggie mix with the seasoning. After mixing everything together, it was ready to eat!

I turned more into a goulash than what I expected. But, there’s nothing wrong with that! It’s made with brown rice pasta – which is not my favorite – so it’s a bit softer than I wanted the pasta to be. It especially got softer the second day with leftovers. But, it’s rice pasta, it’s to be expected.

Overall, it’s a great base to add some great vegetables and a protein in. If it was by itself, it might be a little bland. I mean, the spice mix is flavorful – but without veggies – not sure it’d be worth it. It’s a decent italian blend that makes it tasty. Definitely add in as many veggies as you can! They really complete the mix and makes it a much healthier option.

PS I’m really happy that Namaste uses hemp seed in their pasta mixes. I love me some hemp seed! Such great protein and a great nutty taste.

PPS my tip is that I only used about 3/4ths of the spice bag. I actually saved the rest and used it to season veggies at later dates!

Ingredients: vegetable pasta (brown rice, spinach powder, tomato powder, carrot powder, water), shelled hemp seed, tomato powder, salt, granulated garlic, italian seasoning, granulated onion, silicon dioxide (to prevent caking). It contains no wheat, gluten, soy, corn, potato, dairy, casein, peanuts or tree nuts. Non-GMO, all natural, no preservatives.

It’s available online on Namaste’s website for $4.79 a bag and available at Whole Foods and other natural food stores.

I’ve purchased this mix again since reviewing it, so I would give it a strong 4 out of 5. I wish the pasta held up better for leftovers the next day, but I really like having a mix availalble!
