Back when Celiac and the Beast first started, I gave away several “I Eat Gluten-Free” wristbands courtesy of I Eat Different! I originally “met” the author at her booth at the Chicago Gluten and Allergen Free expo in Chicago in April. I grabbed a child’s-size wristband for myself and haven’t taken it off since. Stasie John, the author, was there to promote her book “The Gluten Glitch.” Her book is for children, and help’s them not feel so alone when eating with food allergies – and reminds them that eating safe is fun too!
She was so great with getting our readings a bunch of wristbands. She was so happy that so many people were interested in them, that she sent me two copies of her book. I’m giving away TWO copies of her book – “The Gluten Glitch”!
The following is courtesy of the Beaver’s Pond Books website:
After Gideon’s whole class gets special cupcakes shaped like farm animals while he has to eat one of his “safe” glutenfree cupcakes, Gideon feels fed-up with eating only gluten-free. Even with all of the delicious gluten-free choices, eating differently is hard, and sometimes Gideon just wants the treats the other kids get to have. Will Gideon find a way to overcome his gluten glitch?
Stasie John is the author of The Gluten Glitch and founder of her company, I Eat Different! After experiencing firsthand the headaches and heartaches of severe food allergies and sensitivities with her two young sons, Stasie decided to write children’s books to raise awareness and remind children that safe eating can be fun, too. A portion each sale will be donated to the Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Network (FAAN) to help raise funding for research and prevention.

The reason I’d like to receive a copy of The Gluten Glitch is that my now 17 yr old daughter who has had ceilac diease since she was 10 is now going to be graduating in a few yrs and I’m trying as her mother to gather as much current info on gluten free products so in 2 yrs when she moves on her own she’ll have more information to take with her.
I would love to have this book for my daughter. She is 8 years old and has been eating gluten free for only 2 months now. Since the diet is so new for her right now and with school starting back next month, I think this book could be a real help for her. Changing her diet has been hard for her and I know going back to school with all of her friends is going to make it even harder.
I would love to have a copy of this book just to help my children understand mommy’s issue. Sometimes, it’s so hard. My 4 year old often tries to go gluten free because she wants to be able to share drinks with me and sometimes, when she realizes that she has had gluten, she cries because she feels like she can’t even give her mommy a kiss. It can be so hard to be “different” at school functions or to not be able to eat the mother’s day muffins that the kids baked in class. This could really help her to be able to explain it.
I’m tryoing to educate myself on eating Gluten free for a healthier lifestyle.
I would really love to receive a copy of The Gluten Glitch because my 10 year old twin daughters were just diagnosed with gluten/wheat allergies, and they have been having a really hard time with adjusting, as have I. They unfortunately “knew” all the gluten filled foods prior to this, and I think this would really help them. Plus, they both love to read!
I have a GF 12 year old and 8 year old. Sounds like this book would be great for them!
I have a three year old Gluten Free little girl who is learning what she can and cannot eat. She understands that Mommy eats the same way but hasn’t quite grasped why. I truly think this book will help teach her it’s okay to be different and the importance of her special diet.
